This was an interesting listen. The intro track beautifully describes a small town Arkansas rapper enticed by the big city lights of LA and turning into an industry clone. Goons Des Garcons closes out this monologue saying he needs a change of perspective, a way to see the world with a new set of eyes. After hearing this, I’m like, okay, we about to hear some experimental type shit right?. Nope. The production, ad libs, and mix do take some small risks that are welcomed but the verses are for the most part industry standard drivel. Not being a very technical rapper, Goons makes up for it using out of the box rhythms and has an overall vision. This was fair to middling. If the content kept up with the production it would have been a 7 piece home run.
