This is Fancy Dinner music for ppl who prefer the wire over the sopranos. If Pinero & kiss are 2/3 of a brick, Conway and West half to be at least 2/3 of a Bale of the finest OG Kush. Coming in just under 30 minutes, this is the perfect length (no Diddy), ending well before Westside Gunn’s voice starts to give you a headache. The lyrics encompass everything from authentic Hood tales and braggadocio, to fly luxurious shit. The album doesn’t stray from the Griselda blueprint and leaves both emcees in their comfort zone, delivering clever lyricism and many a stand-out line. While the project could use more drums, It’s hard to believe that these songs were crafted during 2016. They sound current, dynamic and radio ready. Standout tracks are Michaelangelo & 94 Ghost Shit. This project isn’t for everyone, but if you like Griselda, you’ll like this album. A Lot.
