I know both project dropped on the same day, but I feel like this project is why J. Cole apologized. If you are under the age of 22 and listen to this project, you will end up with a dangling cross earring. This the music that plays in your head when you are riding passenger in a car on a rainy day and stare out the window. Its dope. Its filled with emotion, most of that emotion is sadness. This captures those feels intensely, from regret, to hopelessness, to guilt, all the way to just full on depression. Even if your life isn’t currently that bad, this will change your mind. The production is dope, pacing is dope, its catchy, hes rapping his ass off and adding just the right bit of personal to make you feel as if he really is going through this or gone through it, whether you know the truth or not. Melancholy music needs to be a label or a sub genre, and he should be the King of it. In rotation.
