E-40 talks spicy on a few records on this project, but as always, his delivery, flow and pronunciation ruin it for me. There are way too many songs on here, and less would have been way more. Even when he’s talking spicy, his inability to keep a steady flow and his delivery consistently sound like he’s reading a book to a kindergarten class. E-40, and I say this in the most respectful way possible, reminds me of an old college professor who used to dabble in rap back in the day, and periodically chooses to make a few new songs with his retired friends so he can show his class what he feels the youngin’s are doing wrong. Bars come off as corny due to these issues as he rushes words to fit into bars which then comes off as inexperienced even though he has been in the game for a very long time. I respect E-40’s longevity in rap, but this project just ain’t it.
