“YNW Melly Flow I’m killing friends” Sheesh! This album is like a Marvel movie. You can enjoy it for what it is, but to really appreciate it you need to have watched several movies beforehand. Which doesn’t translate well when it comes to music. Not a great plan. Some of the delivery on some songs sounds kinda forced and stumblely for lack of a better term. And sometimes he’s in that pocket and sounds dope. I felt lost trying to put together what the theme of this album was. Sounded all over the place as far as the subject matter. Sometimes he talking about his critiques about the music industry, then he’s talking about personal stuff and then randomly he talking bout growing veggies & Stevie Wonder not being blind. Some tracks start off dope and switch up to tracks that are just as dope and some songs take forever to get into before hearing them. You don’t want the skits to take up most of the song. And songs like track 22 would have been a fire if he didn’t ruin it with the singing at the end. But his word play, punch lines and references in his raps was a major highlight. Love the way he puts words together and a lot of the production saves these songs from a lower rating. Album was mad long with flaws but enjoyable. And love the cover.
