Is imitation really flattery? Pop hits can be elusive in the tik tok trending generation, you never know what’s going to catch. There does seem to be a formula though, and this project touches on a lot of it, simple and catchy love songs, crystalline production, and moderately fast melodic sing/rapping. What it’s missing is arguably the most important aspect, and that’s dynamics. This pop effort doesn’t have enough change between verse and hook. There are some cringey lines but also some quatrains that really slapped. This isn’t rap and you can’t get away with a corny couplet on the worlds biggest stage. Solid effort though.
