Too much rapping. I say that because the beats are so fire, adrian perez cooked up some special instrumentals on this one, and for me it’s a shame that we are hit with loud vocals that border on boring. The writing is pretty good, and the stories are heartfelt. They just were not interesting for me to listen to. If 1 A.M. got a little more melodic, this project would be scratching at the door of some killer RnB. If she stays in this lane, we need more metaphor, it’s a little too straight forward on some basic shit. She has a great delivery and decent vocabulary. For this to hit though over such a well crafted base, the lyrics need some imagination and technicality. Mid all day.
