When the undercard is better than the main event. This is really a collaborative project between ROC Nation, DJ Clue and PUMA, and it’s a magnificent showcase of the young talent on the label. I don’t think this project would have stood out 15 years ago, but with the lack of lyricism prevalent on radio played hip hop, its a welcome throwback to the mixtape era of the early 2000’s, even if the project is super polished and pushed by a major label. Pretty much every song is dope, but no cohesiveness, just slick bars. You may get bored trying to digest this in one sitting, but pick out any track and you’re sure to hear some gems. A few of these names your gonna want to remember.
