Project is alright. For those who haven’t heard of Jidenna, probably only know classic man, they will see an artist just doing the R&B Childish Gambino, Tyler thing where they put out some experimental R&B to get whatever award is popular. For those who have listened to him, you will see that too but be more upset because you don’t hear none of that African bop that seasoned his other releases. Project is clean tho, its just missing its own real identity, like any slick talking rapper/singer could have put this out. Content wise, pacing, all of that could have easily been replicated. If you put this on for someone who listens to Jidenna without telling them it would probably take them a minute to realize its him. Overall tho, fun project, fun production, good pacing, clean quality, and some catchy bops, its just not the most original, but does take its influences from some dope era’s, you can hear some old school R&B some 70’s type stuff, blaxploitation type energy and such. Its just ok.
