Mozzy is a bit older than the Tik Tok generation but has a sound on this EP that doesn’t make him feel dated. This is hustling music with catchy melodies and a few memorable phrases. The rhyme schemes are super tight if not straightforward. There’s a lot of southern shots fired here and name drops of people I don’t know but the point comes across crystal clear, Mozzy does what he wants. Features all had a little something to say but none did it as well as Mozzy. Beats were pretty ethereal for a rapper of this type and I gotta say the contrast of raspy vocal aggression with the echoing strings of the instrumentals made for a very enjoyable 17 minutes. The bar work leaves something to be desired, just excess machismo and weight flipping but it’s worth the listen.
