19. Written History
One thing thing that really hit me with this project is the fact that this era and generation has killed the classic hip hop album. Not to say that this is one but the fact that its 19 tracks long, has a mix of all sorts of sub genres and even the mainstream stuff on here, and still left me feeling like I enjoyed it but will never listen to it again says allot. It’s not bad, it’s mostly good, with some pacing issues, and some lackluster features and production popping up here and there. When it hits that almost sad emotional bag it really hits, when it hits that “this might hit the radio or some algorithm streams” it feels like him stringing shit together so maybe the kids will like him even tho he lowkey created the sound they love. You shave off half of this and you have a great project, as it stands, its solid but with a fair amount of skips. I will give credit where it’s due he does make all the flashy, eat pussy, get money raps sound cool especially with the right beat but there comes a point where some of it made me feel as old as he looks currently. Fans will rock with this, and maybe even some youngins. In rotation.
