This is a Poet who decided to put his writing over beats. He got a tiny hint of serious Kendrick to his inflection and delivery. It’s very rare that when it comes to music where the beats shouldn’t be recognized to a certain extent. This project honestly the beats being very simple and subtle really drove home the fact that you should be listening to what he is saying. The wordplay, the lessons, the stop and go almost preachy flow just delivering line after line. Food that is medicine and nothing else. The pacing is dope, and you honestly know what you are in for after track 1. It’s a shame that due to whatever the trends and such are when it comes to music and mainstream that this will be considered an acquired taste even tho it’s so necessary when keeping things pure. Real lyricists will get down with this, and true poetry fans will too. I wanna hear how this dude features, or even on some more complex production. Throw this on if you didn’t feel like reading today.
