All grown up now, love to see it. The way this boy was rapping, you really felt like he wanted to erase that “J.Cole” comparison. He was out here just getting busy, giving you everything on this project. This felt like one of those all in projects in every aspect from the features, to the production, the samples, and the pacing. Project sounds expensive. This is highest tier quality and production. The pacing is dope but has moments where it threw me off, going from some real life shit to talking about throats, I get it them rich white folks who own the media need you to put that on everything but just leave it at the end and throw the word bonus tracks on it. When you ignore those tracks regardless of if they still bop then you get a really personal, heartfelt, realistic dive into his life, without him shying away from how dope he can write, and deliver. This has stories, hooks, bars, and dope features. He was shooting for a quick album of the year steal in the 4th quarter, and he may have snuck onto my list. In rotation.
