I think it’s time to just stop sleeping on Florida emcee’s and start giving them all the flowers. I’m not talking about the ones out here looking like Treebeards from Lord of the Rings. I feel like i’ve said this before about these Florida cats and i’m saying it again, this is what was supposed to come after the golden age of hip hop. Every beat on this is a bop, whether its some street soundtrack shit, some smooth memory lane shit or just some straight up boom bap. Every feature showcased that they are spitters too just with their own styles and more. Then you have Mogly on here just sliding. The fact that his voice and cadence can let him get away with anything on a track is a plus but he’s out here rapping like he’s being pressed by a slumlord. The slick talk, the game, the reminiscing, all works, and always has a hint of where he’s from included. This is hip hop that honestly has its street but that’s not the focus. This is fire music. In rotation.
