Nobody gonna tell this man that he didn’t understand the assignment. He fucking aced it. Whether he knows it or not this man single handedly murdered the concept of ageism in hip hop but also makes them young cats who believe in this sound dumber than ever. To explain it further, this dude clearly did his research on the sound, incorporates his love for the game, his age, his own sauce and more and does it better than most, from the autotune to the catchy hooks. The fact that some of the more melodic pop type sounding stuff was hitting to me made this that much more impressive. The beats are modern and bang, the pacing is dope, he sings, raps, tells stories, and swags a whole bunch on this. I cannot stress that he does it all better than most. I truly hope the marketing for this involves images of him asleep in the club, icing his knees and back after concerts and massaging his temples from being on the computer for too long. In rotation.
