This was a different approach to what you would normally expect from a Juicy J album. While I commend and applaud him tackling a very important and relatable topic such as mental health, It didn’t make for an enjoyable listen. Especially when not all the songs are consistent with the overall theme. You’ll have songs that are intro-ed by clips of news reports on mental health disorders and explanations on how it affects people through the album, but some songs (like track 4 & track 17) are just regular Juicy J hype tracks that we all know and love. The pacing was all over the place. Seemed like he half assed the mental health album cause he didn’t want to commit fully at the expense of not having songs that he knows his core fans will look for from him. The result is this album that sounds all over the place. The production was still solid, and when Juicy J did his 3 6 flows he shined. But the mental health jams from him I can take it or leave it. Loved to hear Gangsta Boo (R.I.P.) one last time, just wish it was on a more true to 3 6 Mafia and Juicy J’s bag to give it a proper home that fits her verse. But I can see a niche amount people appreciate this kind release from him. But peep it out and see what you get out of it.
