If I was a teenager, this would absolutely hit way harder. As music, its clean, its dope, has bop to it and hits all those trendy things that society loves. Thats also my dilemma, as a grown man, I see this as another grown man targeting that young mainstream audience. You got the aggro insecure thuggery, the devil talk, out the swamp talk, kill people, break my baby momma neck talk, all of it. We don’t need more of this even if its his take on it or done well. The production on here is very dope too, but again, I don’t wanna hear aggro thuggery over a dope As You Are flip. Pacing is solid too, features did what they normally do. Jarren definitely is hitting this approach at a very high level just musically, he can rap his ass off, write hooks, he pays homage and clearly has great songwriting structure. I just wish that wasn’t directed at what’s popular. Its very clear on that Dizzy track, Dizzy smoked him content wise and they were both spazzing. You can bump this shit loudly anywhere if you wanna disturb some peace tho. In rotation.
