18. 2018This like if hood folks missed Mayday Parade so much that they remixed they sound. Project is solid. Gotta give credit where its due, autotune on or off, Rod was on here singing his ass off, hitting notes that were completely unexpected. Outside of that tho everything else was expected. This is someone who clearly mastered his sound and wave, so he can rinse and repeat songs at a high volume by tweaking a few things and taking a few risks to spread them apart. There is a lot that plays a part on this from the sounds, samples and such that put this ahead of most in this lane. We just don’t need 18 tracks worth, because that volume and pacing really expose that its just the same song over and over again. Especially since there is only 1 feature on this and his verse was straight out of a 12 year olds diary. Lots of emotion on here, mostly sad, and tragic being black in these streets talk, which could work its just after this many songs of it, you get the feeling hes more like an invincible superhero rather than someone glad they made it out and keeps surviving. In rotation, especially if you need some background music.
