Sounds like ya dusty uncle telling you why his generations music was better than yours but not proving it. Maddog embraces the elder statesman attitude on this. Pocket presence is severely lacking, this can happen when an emcee writes a bar that almost fits on the beat, but is off by a syllable or two and they don’t adjust it. This album is also strewn with broken schemes, where in the middle of a run Maddog uses an imperfect rhyme which just throws the rhythm off. Lots of believable street stories and a real feel of the human struggle that anyone can relate to. Beats are knocking and melodic, and mix is fairly clean. Middle of the road rap for middle age dudes reliving the glory days.
