The Son of R.D – Don Dada G.N.D.
Bro you got me fucked up if you think I’m gonna listen to another 28 track album damn near 2 hours long. Where to start, Don Dada has a super clean delivery and flow that is ultra similar to Bliss & Eso. The almost constant barrage of double time rap kind of drowns out the beats, as he’s never not spitting. There is a doubled up backing track on every vocal all the way through which sometimes is great, other times distracting. Don Dada is overly poetic and metaphorical, and while this is done well, it often feels like he isn’t saying anything, because its lacking the specifics. Project transitions back and forth from introspective to preachy. The boy can rap, no doubt, but he’s got to reel it in and focus. Lyrics often read like a diary, but the hooks are generally pretty fire and melodic. This could have been cut down to 10 or 12 tracks and had the same feel and message.
