This album surprised me in a lot of ways. I don’t typically enjoy sing song rappers because they lack the bar work, not Bankroll Hayden. He mixes in some very clever punches and dope metaphors with his painfully melodic cadence over beautifully crafted instrumentals, and besides two trash features everything sounds clean. There is a lot of summertime in California music with upbeat tempo thst comes off as very danceable. Bankrol Hayden has a gift for catchy hooks and this project is littered with them. Content wise, this cat is young, and is talking way more money than he has. The more down to earth and relatable tracks are the gems here and an EP of just these would have been a powerful release. Vocal production here identical on every track and while the autotune isn’t overbearing, it would have been nice to hear some difference. This one is worth listening to and hopefully Bankrol Hayden’s music evolves into something grown folks can really rock with.
