Rodney Brown Jr – RJmrLA
This album is really hit and miss, but there’s more good than bad. It has a very LA/Westcoast feel without being G-funk, and that comes through on the instrumentals, utilizing a lot of keys and horns. RJ might be sad, I don’t know, but he always sounds on the verge of tears with his voice cracking. I could have done with a few less vocal effects and some of the features really detracted from the songs. The jam on this one though is Corner House, anyone that grew up in a city knows where that corner house is.
