Kid dropped his best release in years and all he had to do was label it Pop. He might be the only artist in history from the US that we all could agree would be better if he was British, or at least make more sense. New Cudi I mean, for those who still remember what he gave us back in the day. If he fronted a UK punk, or indie alternative band, it would absolutely be a hit factory and work. This project really hits that note, him just getting creative in sonic and singing spaces without the confinement of jigaboo booty stank rap music fits him well. The chorus’s hit, and he’s just sliding on all the very random and uber financially produced production. I was bobbing and honestly all I could think was why didn’t he go pop long ago. This works anywhere, I can hear it on Netflix shows, movies, even some coming of age type series based on the atmosphere and sometimes even the subject matter. Throw this on and forget that its Kid Cudi and appreciate that its Kid Cudi. In rotation.
