This has more check on your positive friend energy than strong friend. This project has allot of conflict. From devastating and life changing events, to him explaining how he was living rather than reliving it, or him just forcing some not fully believable positivity. There’s allot of manifestation, religion and such on this but it does not feel like the good side of these things. When it’s him reminiscing its solid and has soul, when it’s some strange positivity it feels more forced and like some weird attempt at getting on white radio stations but not via country. It feels like even though it was honest it avoided allot of twisted or an even darker reality and is truly missing that you know who soul. Features were solid for the most part but some weren’t the most necessary. The production is ok for the most part but was all over the place. He fit that mold too but managed to keep entertaining, I just couldn’t help but feel like this is him doing an impression of his old self. It’s still a solid and complete album there are just allot of things that feel missing. In rotation.
