I went from discovering him young, watching him evolve his sound, change underground rap, to thinking, this lowkey sounds like Black Carnival music. Not to take shots it just has a very cartoonish, almost fun horror type feel to it. This could’ve used some fun features, as much as he is doing it all and doing it well, this felt like too much him. The tracks are long, there’s so many skits, and nothing fully connects. That being said he still manages to put out a solid release with a quality that is up there, it’s just for the first time I think ever for me personally I feel like his sound needs something new. It’s all fun, nothing too serious, all the chopping but nothing that he couldn’t do in his sleep almost like a watered down version of himself. Compared to himself it’s not the best but compared to others, people can’t really do what he does. Throw this on for a hint of nostalgia, and just some simple fun raps, nothing too crazy to dive into unless you are from where he is from or grew up with him. In rotation.
