This a nod to when emotional hood rap didn’t need autotune singing on the hook. it has one of those on it too but it’s just 1 out of a couple. The takeaways are the production on this is ok nothing crazy but I feel like allot of it gets lost in muddy mixes, hit or miss hooks and features, and just tolerable contrast. The super emotional tracks lose steam from over hammering the tone and outstaying its welcome. The more grounded tracks have moments but again mix and tracks going on way too long take away from it and highlight small imperfections and minor discomforts as far as pockets, flows and breathes. This captures that trunk cd mixtape feel and quality for sure but it’s hard to determine what sounds a bit dated or just under cooked. Again itβs not bad just allot of small things that I couldn’t let slide due to hearing this sound more polished or just ADHD. In rotation tho.
