Strike The Shepherd – The Bad Seed & JR Swiftz

The Bad Seed has a gift for digestible punchlines making boom bap beats grab his pockets. You don’t need to be King of the Dot to understand the entendre. Track 5 is a vigilant assessment of misguided inner city young men that shouldn’t be taken lightly. The Bad Seed has one track on here where his flow just aint hitting, but it’s followed up by two slick feature verses. JR Swiftz lays down golden era underground drums that provide a steady foundation for the projects battle born lyrics. Calling this background music would be insulting, but it’s something that could provide the soundtrack to anyone whipping around the hood. With a bounce like a non-melodic method man, The Bad Seed manages to capture the aggressive confidence of New York eloquently. This one deserves a listen.
