I will say the beats carried this project but thats not even a bad thing, them shits just infinitely knocked. They really carried, like if the hooks was average or a lil weak the beats would have more than enough changes to make them pop, if they were maybe losing an occasional pocket, them samples or clean ass drums or even the drums dropping would give it that much more life. Every beat man, truly went in, and shaped an incredible story. The Emcees went in tho they were rapping Impromptu accent and all just showing out with the hip hop chops and mixing up flows, using his accent well as far as inflections and such to keep his verses fun, while Tomcat with that other accent but lowkey was hiding it behind a cooler more smooth cadence and less risk taking delivery and would bounce from a super clean pocket to kinda rushing small parts. Mostly nitpicks but overall they was cookin and the contrast worked too, features also added some nice seasoning and could’ve used a few more. Its a good time while still showing potential, I wish they would’ve leaned a tiny bit more into the album name and theme but still a good ass time if you are looking for new music. In rotation.
