We got Mike Shinoda at home. This highkey what white parents want their kids to listen to. To really dive into this you have to break it down and get very granular in every area. As a whole it does feel like back to back shots at radio/tiktok/streaming hits to catch an algorithm, but the more emotional algorithm. He does have a huge Mike Shinoda sound to him, inflection, cadence and just a bit lesser of a vocabulary and hip hop bounce that Mike would dip into every now and then, he also loses the pocket often when he wants to get real wordy. Other than that his voice is cool tho sounding very practiced so he doesnt break out of it much no matter what hes putting together. The production on this is like a bigger more emotional version of like the dodo post background music, very commercial friendly, and might I say worldly, in a very positive and approachable way. Its very solid, features were cool too it’s just some songs things didn’t clash or came off a bit stiff or like HR video music, almost forced to insight happiness or more than its actually doing. Not bad tho, I think he has all the tools and a focused project might make noise. In rotation.
