Imagine if the no limit, trick daddy, goody mob era sound all were curated by a killer with the pen, and a more aware approach, this is that exactly. You got all those crazy beats that justified tanks being on basketball courts and such. Then you have Jon Connor on here going crazy, showing off his lingo, but in the smartest ways possible, from storytelling to game dropping and it never feels like something you’ve heard before or a subject that’s overwashed. The features all added that flair and effect that will be nostalgic, mixing in different lingo’s and inflections as far as southern seasonings. This felt like homage to that era but also where him and the producer are from. It’s fun, its got messages, its got bop, and honestly for a sound that took over a couple years of my life, hearing it come back like this makes it sound that much more unique. Throw this on if your inner demons pop up once in a while to tell you to put on that headband, maybe even double it up, or put one on your arm before going out to hoop in public. In rotation.
