Kendrick LaMartinez. This that latino heat I thought went away when Eddie Guerrero passed. The Pasion’. Real shit this got that fire that will inspire you, wake you up, make you angry, make you sad, make you love, make you hate and highkey just enlighten you. The dipping into history from the stories, to the politics, to the sound I was here for. He never took his foot off the raps pedal. The features were guests but also partying. He was rapping, hooking, dropping gems, history, game, all of it man. The passion behind this project makes you realize that what people call the culture in the mainstream is shit compared to real culture, real students, and experiences of it. Even the small nuances and differences show on this making it relatable but also shows you what’s different as well. Anyone rapping and heavily proud of their culture should drop at least one of this. If you are Puerto Rican, this will fire you up and make you proud, kinda like the energy Big Pun’s 100% gave to the spanish community in NY summer 2000. If you weren’t there, then you will never understand. In rotation.
