Best way to put it is he put something out that sounds like something you would have expected from him during his peak but better fitting for this era. This hits, he didn’t sacrifice his style at all for this and honestly felt like he never left. He just adapted his style to the now quality. Even hearing the more anthem like 90’s beats adjust to the quality and sonics of this era was dope. He has a dope voice, dope presence and was just talking that slick rap shit but with a more grown up tone. Lowkey shaming you if you small money chasing in your 30’s. He gives hints of where hes been, how he feels about this rap shit, and just some gems about his loyalty and im not mad at that at all. The features were dope and added solid contrast, but I needed him sparring with more heavy hitters because that Benny DZA track went crazy. Im also mad he showing all this love for HOV and only got a clip of HOV on this. Either way this a dope hip hop album for hip hoppers who stuck in the past to throw on to make sure they favorite rappers can still work. In rotation.
