This project got the energy of how downward spirals are represented in young adult television. Do not let the upbeat fast paced drum and bass fool you, this project is sadness. What’s wild is her style and tone sonically voice wise is depressing but the music behind it is so not that, that it lowkey will make you stop dancing to run back what shes saying. The fact that she repeats allot of this simple sharp sad lines is what really sends it home. On paper you might not see it but this contrast really works. This is absolutely beautiful music. Give her the torch to lead the new youth of lightskins or folks who feel lightskinded on the inside. Pacing is dope, no features, just her making dope, heartfelt music regardless of the “genre”. Give this a chance even if you feel like it might not be for you, you might end up surprised. In rotation.
