And Then You Pray For Me – Westside Gunn
Project has too much and no real direction. Most of this is dope when you got real raps, street shit, dirty beats and features that came to support that energy. Then you have allot of random shit that just doesn’t mesh well for the most part and is type doo doo doo doodoo. Pacing is a mess. It feels like a mixtape that Westside put together but most of it consisted of him giving everyone involved creative freedom to the point where hes not even on songs. For fans they will be able to pick out the songs that fit what they like but they will also struggle with trying to figure out what the other stuff is. It felt like he struggled with that too. Its too long, and lowkey hints that his next project could be more experimental, R&B or even pop. Id take more than half of this tho, and those more smooth drumless tracks hit more than they should’ve. In rotation, just know theres more hard skips than normal.
