Tope came through on this one with a slow almost epic feel to the instrumentals without too much orchestration. This approach really gave LaRussell room to breathe, so the flows come off as effortless and you can tell he’s comfortable on the mic. The whole point of this album though, to brag about selling 500 tickets to a pop up show in 8 hours. Cool? maybe, worth putting out an 8 track album where half the tracks are skits? probably not. LaRussell has that laid back bar spitting ability which makes this a fun 15 minute listen, but no classic.
