Kicks better be fresh if you’re rocking with this jammy. Jarl Far sliding over lots of trumpets and synths. The skits introducing every song kept a theme going but seemed a little cheap compared to the tracks themselves. A couple times Jarl slips in some elegantly written punchlines and schemes but for the most part he sticks to simple bars with melodic cadences just riding these instrumentals out. This really feels like an introduction to an artist, as the songs are really just one verse and hook, nothing is fleshed out as complete songs, but he does manage to body that last joint. I’m glad I listened to this but it’s not something I’ll be coming back to. Not bad for 17 minutes and no features but I’ll be looking for the next project from Jarl Far to be complete.
