The Snappening… man this album screams Stan. You know when you listen to Eminem for the first time then you think, “WOW, I can do that” The intro honestly got me in the zone with its warnings on how offensive it was going to be. Was it though? I’m still looking for it since I was focused on how this man was yelling into the Mic like Slim Shady Vs MGK. Jokes aside I love the instrumentals that were chosen for the tracks and the verses were creative while being understandable. The first two songs were snapping at me while B-Yaself killed my vibe. Hassole brought it back but for some reason it made me feel like I was holding my breath. “Like Dad” I could live without, I understand the track but to me it wasn’t “it”. LIVE & Black brought the mood back with dope verses and crazy instrumentals.

Having never heard this artist before I had no expectations going in. First off, The mixing and mastering was probably a 7/10, given that some tracks were clearly over compressed or limited but vocals shined through nicely. Although I hated the use of skits here and felt as though this project absolutely didn’t need them or the intro, most of the tracks themselves made up for that. The use of comical lyrics, super fire beats, and some really deep content in some parts made this an easy spin for me. My only major critique is that the artist sounds really really similar to Eminem which could turn some listeners off. Overall dope project, just lacked in a few areas for me.

This is definitely a solid project. Still, I was skeptical when this album started. If you intro an album with a disclosure that people might not like it you’re already shooting yourself in the foot. Luckily he hopped up on the good foot and fly kicked on the title track. Punchlines Hit, Song structures are solid, Beats make me want to throw on a Jedi Mind Hoodie Drink a MD 20/20 Blaze a Philly and backhand a herb out they Air max 95s. The Feature Astro Jiggy Jones’ name and verse were equally as dope as each other. Flipside with solid cuts bringin it all together. I can tell D1C3 is from the Mathers school of rhyming but he does enough to embody his own perspective so it’s not abrasive. He does however need to be a little more conscientious because there WERE moments when there was a blatant correlation. Short and sweet with different concepts, tape is In rotation.
7/10 – Googie
