Who We Are, What We Do

Our vision

We only aspire to live in a world where Hip Hop is not trash and is not forced to follow a make believe and forced guideline to success. This type of stuff not only degrades and takes away the drive for creativity but it also nullifies the said spark of failure and negative reinforcement. We are here to tell you if your music is basura but with a smile, or if it is good and is in need for more promotion. All in all this will make artists better, more creative, more themselves, more tough skinned, and more versed in self promotion (for good or bad) but on a lowkey Joe Jackson level.

Our Story

This platform was built on the sides of Hip Hop that don’t get the shine it truly deserves. Failed attempts at getting signed or radio play, those hip hop arguments amongst friends and family at get togethers, or even just an irrational low blow taken online because you just don’t like someone. We all harnessed all of that energy through experience, created a solid structure, and made it easily accessible for the world.

Our Process

1 Listen. We base our reviews off of 1 listen. This keeps things fair. The reason behind it is to separate the bias that has become the norm of music fandom. If you want to question this process then first ask yourself, why do you listen to popular projects more than you do someone who is not famous? Music shouldn’t chart because of fame and marketing, they should chart because it is good, and we are not here to support that side of the culture. We also have to adjust with the times to keep relevant and interesting so alongside our brutal honesty, we incorporate humor, keep things short and quick for those with modern day attention spans, while managing to keep our critiques constructive and not hating. We stress that we are not hating, we only want to see artists win, and never settle.

– Quick summary which includes is constructed of:

– A humorous first line to draw attention.

– An overall project judgment. 

– Quick summary on the lyrics, features, production and overall quality.

– An overall closing statement. 

– Number rating for the project itself and the artwork. 

– The reviewers name/tag.
